Marsha Boulton was the fourth woman and the first shepherd to receive the Stephen Leacock Medal for Humor. The Award-winning book, Letters From the Country, first published in 1996 chronicles Marsha's transition from "high heels to Wellington boots" and several sequels have followed. Her latest book, Wally’s World: Life with Wally the Wonder Dog is published by St. Martin’s Press in New York as well as a dozen other publishers in a dozen other countries. You will find a copy in a bookstore near you or you may purchase signed copies of any of her books directly from Marsha through this website (See contact information below).

She has been a contributor to the CBC Radio “Fresh Air” program  for a more than a decade and is the recipient of the YWCA's Woman of Distinction Award in Arts and Culture. Marsha Boulton is the the only Shepherd - Author listed in Who's Who of Canada. She is a member of the Writers Union of Canada.. Presently, Marsha is working on an historical novel based upon the Normanite cult of Cape Breton's Norman McLeod. She shares farm chores with author Stephen Williams and can often be found out standing in her field with her English bull terrier, Wally the Wonder Dog.
